Time Warner Cable and Univision Communications have announced a multi-year, multi-platform agreement to deliver Univision content through Time Warner and Bright House networks in the US. The deal is an extension of their existing partnership.
Time Warner will bring a comprehensive selection of Hispanic content to its customers, including Univision's new networks: Deportes, tlNovelas and Forotv. The agreement aims also to provide multi-platform distribution, giving customers access to the digital and on-demand (VOD) platforms, Time Warner's TV Everywhere and Univision's Uvideos and Deportes digital properties.
The expanded partnership also includes the distribution rights of Univision's flagship channels such as UniMás, Galavisión, Bandamax, Ritmoson and Distrito Comedia.
“Our comprehensive agreement expands the number of ways our Hispanic subscribers can enjoy their favorite entertainment, news, sports and telenovelas. We also look forward to the launch of El Rey; after talking with Robert and his creative team for more than a year, we’re convinced that this new network will provide our customers with a unique experience”, explained Melinda Witmer, executive VP for Time Warner.
Time Warner will be also among the first operators to distribute El Rey, a new network created by the filmmaker Robert Rodriguez and FactoryMade Venture. “Time Warner Cable’s commitment to El Rey emboldens our ability to bring exciting, visceral and cinematic stories to young viewers across the US”, added Rodríguez.
