The Hungarian national transmission company Antenna Hungária has announced that it will launch a six-month HbbTV FTA test transmission on its DVB-T network on Tuesday October 15.
Known as MinDig TV Plus, it will include new live streams such as Fix TV and MTVA, along with Swiss Radio channels.
It will also contain rich EPG data, news, weather forecast information and webcam features, with content being accessible through the red button on the remote control.
Antenna Hungária’s partner in the test transmission is Finland’s Sofia Digital, the supplier of the 1.1 HbbTV system, while the content contributors are MTVA, Fix TV, Swiss Radio and PORT Data.
The company expects that an increasing number of set-top box manufacturers will begin marketing HbbTV-capable receivers, allowing viewers to watch its MinDig TV and MinDig TV Extra programming, as well as MinDig TV Plus hybrid TV services.
Antenna Hungária first announced its plans to undertake an HbbTV trial at the end of September.
