Lantiq, a supplier of broadband access and home networking technologies, and Netgem, French technology provider of video solutions for the connected home, have announced Hybridge, which combines xDSL and LTE Residential Gateway.

The new product enables fixed and mobile Internet usage with ultra-fast data rates in up and downlink.

The first examples will be presented this month at the Broadband World Forum in Amsterdam.

Hybridge aims to fill the gap between the rising need to access high definition video streams, including on-demand and OTT content, on multiple screens and the ever growing demand for bandwidth which is not always available to all consumers on existing copper networks.

It enables aggregated bandwidths reaching up to 200Mbps at home.

Hybridge is presented as a high-end VDSL gateway that includes Lantiq DSLTE technology – based on the latest AnyWan GRX300 Network processor family. On this platform, the Netgem Quattuor advanced LTE mobile hotspot can be docked to provide the additional bandwidth.

According to both companies, in addition to an increased bandwidth, other benefits include efficient multiscreen content delivery everywhere, and a modular and versatile platform enabling new fixed/mobile Internet bundles.
