Engage Sports Media picks thePlatform for centralised cloud video publishing

One of the UK’s leading digital sports marketplaces is to use thePlatform’s cloud-based video management system to manage and distribute online content for its high-profile football, rugby and cricket clients.

Engage Sports Media manages the assets of, among others, the International Rugby Board (IRB), the governing body for Rugby Union, as well as the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket teams the Rajasthan Royals and 2012 Champions the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Its back-end video management system will now be based on the mpx platform which will see use to upload videos, manage files and metadata, set business and monetisation policies, enforce content viewing rights, and distribute videos to third-party sites, such as YouTube, and their clients’ websites. In addition, mpx will offer a Web-based console for managing video libraries as well as customisable video players with integrated social networking tools, a video commerce system and the ability to publish video across PCs, smartphones, tablets, game consoles and other connected devices.
