Netflix's latest production success, Orange is the New Black, is to premiere in Spain through Canal+ and the online platform Yomvi, as Netflix hasn't yet launched its over-the-top (OTT) service in the country.

Canal+ will present the series as one of the star acquisitions of its new premium channel Canal+Series.

Orange is the New Black, the latest creation of Jenji Kohan, who also directed Weeds, is to premiere its first season in Spain in December. In the US the show has already been renewed for a second season. After the premiere, the whole first season will be available on Yomvi, Canal+'s online video-on-demand (VOD) platform.

Netflix, which doesn't reveal many details about its audience, recently stated that Orange is the New Black has been the most successful production of the year, since its premiere in June, beating both House of Cards and Arrested Development.
