French themed channels Planète+ Justice and Planète+ No Limit, owned by Canal+, will change their name and design on 13 November to be more in line with that of US A+E Networks, which Canal+ signed a long-term content deal with in April.

Planète+ No Limit will become Planète+ Action & Experience (or Planète+ A&E) while Planète+ Justice will be renamed Planète+ Crime & Investigation (Planète+ CI).

The content deal between both groups covers acquisition, production and digital distribution and involves the Canal+ pay-TV factual channels Planète+ and its free DTT networks D8 and D17.

A+E Networks currently operates 57 channels outside the US – including A&E and Crime & Investigation – in over 150 territories, and reaches more than 330 million subscribers.

Planète+ No Limit is fully owned by Canal+ Group, whereas Planète+ Justice is jointly owned by Canal+ (66%) and France Télévisions (34%).
