French distributor Zed has pre-sold the worldwide rights, excepting France, Canada and China, to the D-Day anniversary documentary Sacrifice to National Geographic Channels International and National Geographic Channel US.
This 70th anniversary D-Day 2x52' HD production is the new World War II landmark project from producer CC&C and Louis Vaudeville (Apocalypse WW2) and by filmmakers Isabelle Clarke, Daniel Costelle and Frédéric Lumière (World War 2 in HD).
Produced for prime time television on TF1 in France, Sacrifice will revisit the 6 June 1944 landings and the 100 days that follow until the liberation of Paris, through the eyes and testimonies of soldiers, officers and citizens.
New coloured archives have been entirely remastered in HD and in 5.1 surround sound.
To meet a total budget of €1.4 million ($1.9 million), Zed has also closed deals with Toute L'Histoire, RTBF, Blue Ant Media, TV5 Québec, TVE, NRK, RTV Slovenija and Ceska TV.
Discussions are being finalised in China, Mexico, Japan, Belgium and Italy.
ZED is currently looking for Home Video, SVOD and OTT partners worldwide.
