BeMyApp, which sets up developer events, and Technicolor are to partner up to organise the QEO Connected Home Challenge, starting on Friday 8 November at 7pm in Berlin, Paris and San Francisco simultaneously.
Until 16 November, three hacking nights will take place in each city.
Dedicated to independent developers, designers, company teams, start-up friends, students and electronic engineers, and focused on the Internet, the challenge will close on 20 January 2014.
Registration has already started on http://qeochallenge.com.
The objective of the challenge is to facilitate the development of applications or services for connected homes.
This two-month challenge will reach a peak in early December when, during the Fly Me to Vegas event, the three most promising teams from France, Germany and the US will be selected to present their projects on Technicolor's booth at CES in Las Vegas in January.
On 20 January, during the Grand Final, a panel of experts will choose the best projects and these will receive a cash prize.
With its software platform Qeo, Technicolor intends to position itself as a pioneer in inter-object communication within the connected home. Qeo enables full interoperability between ecosystems, applications and devices of all brands.
