Deutsche Telekom returns to growth with IPTV

German telco Deutsche Telekom has recorded stronger growth for Entertain in Q3 2013 with 43,000 new customers signing up for the IPTV platform which reached 2.12 million subscribers on 30 September.

In Q2 2013, Entertain gained 42,000 new customers. In total, 17.1% of Telekom's 12.38 million broadband customers have now opted for the service.

IPTV is also growing in Switzerland with the national telco Swisscom acquiring 41,000 new customers for its IPTV platform Swisscom TV in Q3 2013, taking its total to 943,000. More than half of Swisscom's 1.78 million broadband customers have signed up for the service.

Swisscom has also announced that its board of directors has appointed Urs Schaeppi as the company's new CEO with immediate effect. Schaeppi, who succeeds Carsten Schloter, has been working at Swisscom for 15 years, since 2007 as the head of its corporate clients department.
