Pay-TV platform DStv is adding four new CBS channels to its sub-Saharan satellite bouquet following a deal with international channel distributor Chello Zone.

CBS Drama and CBS Action will mark their African debut on the MultiChoice-owned platform on 12 November. They will be joined by Chello Zone's children's channel JimJam and the Hollywood movie channel MGM.

CBS series New Twilight Zone and Mission: Impossible will form some of the international content on CBS Action, while CBS Drama will show series such as Dallas and Half & Half. Much loved children's shows such as Bob the Builder and Angelina Ballerina will be available on JimJam.

"Africa is a key territory for English language content and is the perfect home for our broad range of channels which offer viewers a fantastic mix of programming from glossy US super-soaps and passionate series on CBS Drama and iconic swashbuckling and fantasy series on CBS Action to educational interactive kids' series on JimJam and Hollywood greats on MGM," said Louise Cottrell, VP affiliate sales, Chello Zone.

Collins Khumalo, CEO, MultiChoice South Africa, added: "We are delighted to add these four channels to DStv. Our customers will get even more great entertainment and be able to choose programmes that suit their viewing preferences."
