M-net adds content from Sony Pictures Television

African pay-TV network M-net has sealed a distribution deal with Sony Pictures Television (SPT) for new and returning television series.

New dramas The Blacklist, staring James Spader and Masters of Sex, staring Michael Sheen are included in the pact, along with mid-season titles Rake and The Night Shift. Other content includes the new comedies The Goldbergs and The Michael J Fox Show, Bad Teacher and new talk show The Queen Latifah Show. Current SPT series Breaking Bad, Community, Justified and Drop Dead Diva will also be available on M-net.

"The current SPT series on M-Net's channels are well loved by our viewers and we are thrilled to add more exciting new SPT shows to our mix of top-notch content," said Jan du Plessis, director of group content services, M-Net.

M-Net's subscription channels are available across sub-Saharan Africa on the DStv satellite TV platform.
