DishOnline, the new over-the-top (OTT) video app from Indian direct-to-home (DTH) operator Dish TV, has crossed 100,000 downloads within 30 days of launch.
The app allows Dish TV subscribers to watch live and catch-up TV, including videos and movies – drawing on over 1,000 titles in the DTH operator's content library.
"This trend in the Indian market is in line with the global market where device shift for TV content consumption is clearly visible (from one TV to multiscreen TV/ tablets/ smartphones/ laptops)," said Salil Kapoor, COO, Dish TV India.
"We are thankful to our subscribers for this encouraging initial response. New products such as this have a tremendous potential to grow and we look forward to capturing an even wider subscriber base in the times to come."
The DishOnline service, which launched in October, costs INR129 for the Jumbo pack and at INR69 for the Starter pack, though these are currently being offered at an introductory offer price of INR69 and INR29 respectively.
