Leading Hispanic broadcaster Univision has announced the launch of its sports network on Microsoft’s latest game console Xbox One.
The application is set to be debuted on 22 November 2013 and will bring video-on-demand (VOD) and streaming content to the burgeoning and increasingly profitable Spanish-speaking market in the US.
The app, claimed by the company as the first of its kind for the Xbox platform in the country, adds live streaming, non-stop results, real-time game casts, simulated snap view and scores/schedule information — features hitherto not available for the Xbox 360's app.
Football fans will be able to to experience exclusive content available live and on-demand including the Mexican soccer league and the World Cup in Brazil in 2014. It will also deliver content relating to the world’s leading football leagues such as England's Premier League, Spain's La Liga and Germany's Bundesliga.
“We are proud to continue our relationship with Microsoft which began with UVideos on Xbox 360,” commented Scott Levine, senior vice president at Univision Communications. “Univision Deportes' availability on Xbox One, combined with the power and new features of this new console allow us to bring unprecedented access to both of our audiences.”
