Germany's national telco Deutsche Telekom has renewed its long-term contract with Norwegian TV everywhere solutions provider Norigin Media for streaming TV and video-on-demand (VOD) services across mobile devices.
The agreement includes the continued use of Norigin Media's TV and VOD client applications and live hosted headend across smartphones and tablets. The Oslo-based company has been delivering the hosted TV and VOD service to Deutsche Telekom in Germany and Austria since 2008, including the introduction of the first iOS client applications for TV and VOD services.
The suite of client apps has been configured to support multi-country requirements under the T-Mobile brand. According to Norigin Media, the service has been highly successful with Deutsche Telekom's subscribers, carrying live channels from broadcasters such as ARD, ZDF, Sat.1, ProSieben and Sky Deutschland.
Norigin Media enables multiscreen and over-the-top (OTT) services for network operators, broadcasters and content owners. Its customers include companies such as T-Mobile, France Telecom/Orange, Nextel, Eurosport, TV2 Denmark, BBC, MTV and FOX.
