Zee TV is offering subscribers to its UK Sky service free access to 17 of its channels online through its over the top (OTT) video streaming platform Ditto TV.
The cross platform live and on demand TV service for connected devices is also available non-Sky subscribers. Packages vary from a pay-as-you-go ‘top-up wallet’ to a monthly package.
“Zee has been the pioneer and innovator in the media industry and with DittoTV we have demonstrated again that we are moving ahead with the times by launching a new digital platform for distribution of content across Europe,” said Neeraj Dhingra, CEO, Zee Europe.
“Apart from our focus on the linear channels on Sky and other platforms in UK and Europe, with DittoTV we aim to address a new segment of mobile users and make our channels easily accessible on the go. We are already seeing uplift in online subscriptions as a result.”
Launched in February 2012, Siemens-powered Ditto TV offers live and on demand Hindi entertainment on mobile phones, tablets, PCs, entertainment boxes and connected TVs.
The app, which has now notched up 7,000 downloads, is currently available in India, UK, US, UAE, New Zealand, and Australia. It can be viewed via desktop apps for Mac and Windows, and mobile apps for iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows 8, Windows Phone and Symbian.
