Pulseras Rojas, the Spanish series produced by Filmax for TV3, will be broadcast in Italy and the US. RAI1 is already filming the Italian version and Fox has announced that it will do the same for the US. The series has achieved large success with Hispanic audiences.
Pulseras Rojas, which recently won the Ondas prize for Spain's best series, will premiere in Italy's RAI1 January 15 2014. The Italian version, Bracialetti Rossi, has been filmed since 15 July in Puglia, in the south of the country. It is one of the biggest productions of the year for the public channel, and is directed by Giacomo Campiotti. The production is possible thanks to the collaboration between Spain's Big Bang Media and Funwood Ibérica and Italy's RaiFiction.
Red Band Society will be the name for the US production, which will be produced by Fox. Initially ABC was supposed to adapt it, with Steven Spielberg as director, but the project was been dropped. Now Fox has picked up the initial idea and is already working with Margaret Nagle (Boardwalk Empire) and Sergio Agüero (Y tu mamá también).
Filmax has already brought Pulseras Rojas to México, where it had over 10 million viewers on TV Azteca; and it is also being shown on VME in the US; on France's Número 23; and in Argentina on Telefé.
