The French channel dedicated to mountains, Montagne TV, formerly TV8 Mont-Blanc, has stopped transmission on Hot Bird 13 East and also left Canalsat, OrangeSat and Sky Italia.

For financial reasons, the channel will now concentrate on cable and ADSL broadcasting (Canalsat, Orange, Bbox). Over the last two years, its ADSL audience has doubled and has represented one-and-a-half times that of its satellite audience.

Montagne TV is soon to join the Numericable network. Already carried in Switzerland on Naxoo and Swisscom, the channel is also looking forward to further developing internationally.

Montagne TV now streams its key programming on a dedicated YouTube channel.
