ESPN is to reinforce its position in Colombian TV sports programming, looking specifically to the national team's participation in Brazil's World Cup next summer.

The company is also opening a commercial office in Bogotá to capitalise on the increasing business in the country.

The channel presented its 2014 programming for Colombia's media and local clients in front of 350 potential advertisers. The company announced its new commercial office in the country's capital will be headed by Federico Camerlinckx, multimedia director for sales in the Andean region.

During the presentation, the channel also revealed that Andrea Guerrero will join the channel as a presenter. The journalist has been a regular face in Colombian sports programming and will now be participating in Balón Dividido and SportsCenter, both popular ESPN shows.

"We want to be close to the football fans. With our products and the advertisers support we will improve the relationship with the Colombian viewer through all our platforms," said Camerlinckx during the event.

Regarding next year's programming, ESPN will focus on Brazil's World Cup. The channel will gather all the football programming under a single brand, ESPN FC, through which it will also increase its broadcasting of foreign football league matches.
