Just as 4G LTE services begin to emerge across the UK, the country’s leading pay-TV operator has enhanced the channel line-up of its Sky Go mobile TV bouquet.

BSkyB says that by bolstering its services with a further 14 entertainment channels to watch across the full set of compatible devices, it is extending its leadership in mobile TV with what it calls the widest range of entertainment channels anywhere with a 3G or 4G network connection or Wi-Fi signal.

The new channel line-up includes Comedy Central, MTV, Dave, Watch, Gold, Discovery, Nat Geo, History TLC, Animal Planet, Good Food and Eden. Sky TV customers with Entertainment Extra+ can also now watch TV Box Sets from ABC TV on Sky Go including Desperate Housewives and Grey’s Anatomy. There are now up to 57 different channels available on Sky Go with 40 entertainment channels sitting alongside six Sky Sports channels and 11 Sky Movies channels. From 7-13 October, Sky Go claimed just over three million on-demand viewing requests.

Luke Bradley-Jones, Sky’s brand director of TV products, commented: “Sky Go has gone from strength to strength since it launched in July 2011 and now attracts over three million unique users quarterly. The addition of these new channels is part of our continued commitment to provide our customers with a great TV experience whenever and wherever they want it, all at no extra cost. Customers now have even more choice and flexibility whether they want to watch TV box sets, live Barclays Premier League football, the latest blockbusters from Sky Movies or awarding-winning drama from a wider range of entertainment channels.”
