Media Networks aims for Mexican market with turnkey solutions

Telefónica's Media Networks is looking to the Mexican market to continue expanding its Latin American presence after presenting its turnkey solutions portfolio at a TV and broadcasters meeting held in San Luís Potosí.

During the meeting, at which cultural and educational Mexican TV channels and broadcasters were present, Media Networks showed its catalogue of consultant solutions, design and implementation for broadcast infrastructure, production solutions, archives digitisation and mobile units for production and broadcasting, among other technological solutions.

"We want to use in Mexico the precious experience accumulated in other important Latin American and European markets," explained Oscar Castillo, Media Networks' commercial manager for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. He highlighted the company's integration with leading audiovisual providers such as Harris, HP, Avid, Thomson, Via Sat, Oracle and Panasonic.

Telefónica's business-to-business (B2B) unit has lately been working on the digitisation of Peruvian channel Frecuencia Latina as well as HD implementation for Portugal's production centre Rede Record and Spain's TVE helicopters.

In addition to Mexico, Media Networks offers wholesaler services for pay-TV and satellite Internet, audiovisual solutions and content production for operators in Spain, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Paraguay, Ecuador, Bolivia, Venezuela, Peru and Central America.
