OnDIRECTV is bringing two new series to Latin America: the three-part British miniseries the Town, and a retrospective of JFK's life.
The Town has received comparisons to Twin Peaks, David Lynch's classic television series. Irish actor Andrew Scott plays Mark, who is forced to return to his hometown of Seattle after spending the last ten years in London. The catalyst is the suicide of Mark's parents; but much has changed since his departure. His grandmother now lives in Mark's old room, he has a teenage sister that he hardly knows, he finds it impossible to reconnect with old friends, and Alice, his first love, is now married and a mother.
OnDIRECTV is also showcasing a history of the 35th President of the United States, John Fitzgerald Kennedy, dubbed Cold Case: JFK.
The second-youngest (after Teddy Roosevelt) and the only non-Protestant to have reached the position, his term was marked by heady historical events such as the Bay of Pigs Invasion, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the march on Washington led by Martin Luther King Jr and the beginning of the Vietnam War. This month marks the 50th anniversary of his assassination in Dallas on 22 November 1963.
Cold Case tries to find an answer to many of the puzzles and conspiracies surrounding his death that have fired imaginations for decades. A team of forensic experts use the latest technology to reconstruct and review evidence about the events that occurred on that fateful afternoon in Texas.
