Blue Ridge Communications, a top 20 cable service provider based in eastern Pennsylvania, has selected TiVo to provide advanced TV offerings across TV, Web and mobile platforms. Blue Ridge intends to begin initial deployment in early 2014.
Blue Ridge will market and deploy TiVo's complete suite of products and services, including TiVo's cloud-based service, a whole-home gateway DVR (T6), HD set-top boxes for non-DVR households (TiVo Preview), as well as the TiVo Mini, the TiVo Stream, a TiVo Web portal, and TiVo mobile applications for iOS and Android mobile devices.
"Subscribers are increasingly demanding access to more content choices and an all-around superior viewing experience on the TV as well as new screens," said Mark Masenheimer, vice president of operations at Blue Ridge Communications. "We made a decision to leverage the expertise of a third party to meet our subscribers' needs and it was clear that TiVo, with its industry leading whole home and multiscreen solution, was really the only service that could deliver on every demand that our customers have now come to expect. Through this partnership with TiVo, our customers will receive the great content and great experience they deserve and we are confident that in return, our business will reap the benefits of improved subscriber satisfaction."
