As both parties seek to bolster their respective offerings in the face of greater competition, UKTV has made its full network of channels available to Virgin TV Anywhere users.
UKTV claims to reach 42 million viewers a month, and the new deal sees the channel extend its long-term partnership with Virgin Media marking the first time that all of its linear channels are available as part of a multi-platform service.
Flagship entertainment channel Watch, along with Gold, Alibi, Dave, Eden, Really, Drama, Good Food, Home and Yesterday, will be available on the service, accessible via PCs, iOS and Android mobiles and tablets. The announcement also coincides with Virgin Media celebrating the launch of Virgin TV Anywhere’s Android app.
“The extension of our partnership with Virgin Media is a mark of UKTV’s commitment to providing viewers with even more access to our award-winning and increasingly popular channels,” explained Keith Porritt, UKTV’s executive director commercial. “We have committed to spending £110 million on-screen this year, making our channels stronger and more exciting, and now Virgin Media customers will be able to view these channels anywhere they like.”
