Verizon adds 16 more TV everywhere channels for out-of-home streaming

Verizon FiOS has added 16 new TV channels to Verizon's FiOS Mobile App, bringing the number of live channels available outside the home to 25.
The channels are: AXS TV, beIN SPORT, beIN SPORT Espanol, Bloomberg Television, Cine Sony Television, Cooking Channel, ENCORE, FEARnet, NFL RedZone (tablet only), SHOWTIME, SHOWTIME EXTREME, Sony Movie Channel, STARZ, Trinity Broadcast, Universal Sports and the TV Guide Network.
"Quality entertainment you watch from almost anywhere is the promise of the FiOS Mobile App," said John Wimsatt, Verizon's senior vice president of product development. "The programing available will satisfy a wide variety of people, from sports fans to avid moviegoers, but we're not done yet. Close collaboration with content and software partners allows us to deliver a seamless customer experience that will continue to become more robust and offer more variety over time."
The FiOS Mobile App supports iPad, iPhone, select Android tablets and phones, and Kindle Fire tablets. Channels that were previously made available out of the home are: BBC America, BBC World News, EPIX, HGTV, Travel Channel, NFL Network (tablet only), Food Network, DIY Network and Tennis Channel.
FiOS TV customers who are FiOS Internet subscribers can also use their mobile devices and tablets to watch up to 91 live linear national channels at home. In addition, FiOS TV and Internet customers in the New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Washington, DC areas can use their eligible tablets and mobile phones to watch news and weather at home on the local affiliates of networks such as CBS and FOX, and the local affiliates of Spanish-language networks including UniMas and Univision.
The FiOS Mobile App also offers on-demand content, including more than 45,000 on-demand titles.
