Offerpop adds Instagram video for social marketing

Social marketing software company Offerpop has launched capabilities for Instagram video to its Video Contest product. Brands can thus leverage the popularity of the mobile photo- and video-sharing network to run viral, user-generated content (UGC) campaigns.

Instagram Video Contests allow consumers to share their experiences with their favourite brand by submitting entries via hashtag on Instagram. The new capabilities come on the heels of the release of Offerpop's Hashtag Gallery product, which also includes Instagram Video capabilities.

Brands that run Video Contests incentivise social media users to upload, share, vote on and comment on videos on a visual, mobile-optimised interface. Contests can be published to custom landing pages, Facebook brand pages or websites. In addition to Instagram, marketers can allow entries from Twitter and Facebook, and sharing on Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook—driving virality and spurring social media fan growth.
