TF1 Licences, Shine France 360° and XL Airways have signed a merchandising and licensing deal through which the French low-cost airline is now offering passengers a gastronomic meal created by candidates from the French version of MasterChef.
This is the first time in Europe that the TV cookery show has teamed up with an airline.
The quarter finals of the 4th season of the French show – which aired on 6 December on TF1 - challenged the contestants to create a tray meal for airline passengers. The winning meal is now sold on board to XL Airways passengers flying to The Caribbean, La Reunion, Mayotte, Cancun and Punta Cana. As of next summer the meal will be offered to those flying to New York JFK, Miami, San Francisco and Las Vegas.
Passengers buying the meal can currently post pictures on XL Airways' Facebook homepage and try to win two additional tickets to the French Caribbean. The competition finishes on 4 January
