Vubiquity has appointed Darcy Antonellis as CEO, effective 2 January. Antonellis will also become a member of the board of directors.
Antonellis is an industry veteran with experience in broadcast television, production and distribution at companies including FOX Television and CBS. She is the recipient of three Emmy Awards from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences – two of which were for technical production of the 1994 and 1998 Winter Olympic Games. Antonellis is currently president of technical operations and CTO at Warner Bros Entertainment.
"Darcy brings to Vubiquity a proven record of identifying opportunities and driving growth by leveraging the disruptive nature of technology," said Phil Herget, chairman of Vubiquity's board of directors and partner at Columbia Capital. "As a visionary leader with deep understanding of the media industry, she is a great choice to lead Vubiquity into its next stage of growth, to meet the needs of our customers, employees and investors."
"In a fast-moving and constantly-changing industry, Vubiquity has long distinguished itself as a leader in the areas of technology, strategy and marketing," said Antonellis. "And with a greater number of content and service providers looking for leadership as multiplatform viewing becomes the norm, we have an opportunity to bring increased value to our customer base as we extend our market position. I look forward to working with the Vubiquity team to capitalize on these market forces and consumer trends. All of our efforts will continue to be explicitly focused in support of our client's strategic goals, which ultimately drive consumer media and entertainment consumption.
Antonellis replaces Ramu Potarazu, who stepped down as CEO in March and who serves as vice chairman of Vubiquity's board.
