Spain's Mediapro has announced that the bidding process is open for pay-tv companies to buy the broadcasting rights to Canal Gol Mundial. The channel will be on air 24/7 from 19 May to 20 July 2014, offering the 64 matches of the World Cup as well as related programing.

According to the company, bids can be offered until 23 December, and interested channels will have to guarantee the integral broadcasting of Gol Mundial. Mediapro will decide which platform wins the channel according to financial considerations as well as the ability to broadcast in public places.

Canal Gol Mundial will broadcast all World Cup matches live, including the semi-finals and final. During the length of the competition, all the programmes will be exclusively dedicated to the World Cup. The channel will offer insights into football training as well as interviews, press conferences and specialist opinions.

Regarding the free-to-air rights, Mediaset purchased 25 matches from Mediapro in June. The company had already bought the rights for all Spain's national team matches until September 2014. The media group will broadcast the matches through the DTT channels Telecinco, Cuatro and Energy.
