Media Networks has reinforced its position as a direct-to-home (DTH) services wholesaler in Latin America by opening a new network operation centre (NOC) in Peru which is able to monitor 24/7 the 45-plus satellite TV and Internet operations it has in the region.
"We are very pleased about finishing this project, which updates our infrastructure to offer the best service to our clients," said Pedro Planas, Media Networks' CTO. "Lurin's (Peru) new NOC integrates world-leading solutions and allows us to respond straight away to any problem, guaranteeing security and quality in our service."
All the wholesaler services are integrated in the centre, with platform management, TV and Internet operations, IT systems and monitoring centralised in the NOC. The centre is equipped with technology and solutions from Hughes, Nagra, Intraway, Thompson, Eurocom and Atento, among others.
Media Networks, Telefonica's B2B unit, aims to lead the wholesaler satellite pay-TV and Internet market in Latin America by providing turnkey solutions and private label products. It has also opened two satellite hubs in Laredo (US) and Arica (Chile) to provide ISAT-KA, satellite Internet for private homes. Both of these are now also operated from Lurin.
