Serbia flagGrowth in the take-up of pay-TV services is one of the few plus points in what is a sluggish time for Serbiaís telecom market.
According to Balkans.com, the country is lagging behind the most developed in the CEE region in terms of investment in next generation networks and value added services.
Furthermore, the rapid sale of Serbia Broadband, which took place earlier this year, compared to the protracted saga of Telekom Srbijaís privatisation, shows the formerís strong presence in the pay-TV sector and need to lower the latterís valuation.
The number of pay-TV subscribers in Serbia grew by 8.3% in 2013 to reach 1.44 million at the end of the year.
Meanwhile, monthly APRU for IPTV services grew from RSD700 (Ä6.06) to RSD858 over the same period.
