Spain's over-the-top (OTT) operator TotalChannel has achieved over 100,000 registered users just three months after its commercial launch. Over 80% of its viewers use the service through their main TV screen, via a smart TV or a connected console.

Most viewers have signed onto the online TV service thanks to its 30-day free trial, during which time TotalChannel's 12 channels were available.

The company has been updating the app's catalogue, designed for most tablets, smartphones, consoles and smart TVs, with PlayStation 4 being the latest device to be added. TotalChannel has seen 250,000 downloads of its app during these first months.

TotalChannel says it has proved the potential of new TV platforms to broadcast pay-TV channels, especially in a market such as Spain, in which pay-audiences aren't as big as in other European countries.

So far, the platform has added 12 pay-TV channels to its service: AXN HD, AXN White HD, Calle 13 HD, Cosmopolitan HD, Fox HD, Fox Crime HD, National Geographic HD, Paramount Comedy, SyFy HD, TNT HD, HISTORIA and Crime & Investigation. TotalChannel also offers content video-on-demand (VOD), with a wide catalogue of movies and series such as The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad and American Horror Story.
