NetCologne expands HD line-up

German cable operator NetCologne will expand its high definition (HD) offering on 2 January 2014 to then carry a total of 68 TV channels in HD.
With MDR Fernsehen HD, RBB Fernsehen HD and hr Fernsehen HD, three further regional channels from public broadcaster ARD, will be added to the cable network. They will be carried unencrypted and free of charge to customers.
The subscription package Kabelanschluss Premium +HD which contains, for example, the HD channels from commercial broadcast groups RTL and ProSiebenSat.1 will grow from ten to 16 channels. The new additions are DMAX HD, Sport1 HD, Tele 5 HD, Deluxe Music HD, n-tv HD and ProSieben Maxx HD. Customers will also be able to receive these new channels without additional charge.
