Spain's public TV company RTVE is to commercialise Latin America's channel Perú Mágico – produced by Telefónica's B2B unit Media Networks – in Europe from 2014.

Perú Mágico is a pay-TV signal which targets Peruvian Spanish-speaking audiences around the world, offering varied programming with sports, news, lifestyle and entertainment. The channel is broadcast in Peru via the pay-TV platforms Plus TV, Canal N and CMD. In addition to Peru, the signal is currently distributed in the US, Chile and Venezuela.
"Thanks to this deal, Perú Mágico will be part of the wide portfolio commercialised by RTVE in Europe, which for us means a great opportunity to join the European market," explained Fernando Espinoza, ad sales and distribution director at Media Networks. "We are sure Perú Mágico will be successful with the over 1.2 million Peruvians living in Europe, being also an interesting entertainment option for the rest of the Latin American community," he added.
Media Networks is an international business-to-business subsidiary of Telefónica which offers wholesaler services for pay-TV and satellite Internet. The unit focuses in Latin America, giving special attention to secondary markets such as Peru, from where it operates and monitors most of its regional services.
