Atresmedia has launched Atresplayer, an online platform for the group's audiovisual content.
Under the same brand, Antena 3, laSexta, Neox, Nova, Nitro and Xplora will offer their programming on-demand, in HD and ready for multiscreen viewing.
The new platform replaces Modo Salón and has been in beta testing for over two months, during which time it registered 4.5 million unique users and 800,000 app downloads.
Atresplayer already operates on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, Windows 8 and Xbox One. Over the coming weeks Samsung Smart TVs and other consoles will be added to the catalogue.
The service also integrates social TV features, improving interactivity with viewers. Like a second-screen app, the platform offers access to social networks while broadcasting both video-on-demand (VOD) and live content, and giving the option to personalise the service
Regarding streaming quality, Atresplayer includes six different picture resolutions. From the most basic, for mobile connections, to HD+ for those with speeds of over 2.2Mbps. In addition, Dolby Digital sound is also available for the Windows' platforms and will be gradually launched for other systems.
The platform offers most of the content for free, in original versions and with subtitles. Moreover, there is a pay option to access the group's entire audiovisual catalogue and watch the programmes without advert breaks.
