Television rights for Formula One (F1) motor racing across the Arab world have been acquired by media company MP & Silva for six years commencing 2014.
The sport has seen F1 Grand Prix staged in Abu Dhabi and Bahrain over recent years, and has a growing fan base in the Gulf, and across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
"The purpose of this agreement is to help grow interest in Formula One throughout the Middle East and I am confident that MP & Silva can help us achieve that," said Bernie Ecclestone, chief executive, Formula One.
The deal with MP & Silva will secure an undisclosed price for Formula One, with MP& Silva free to sell the rights on to regional broadcasters.
