Cablevisión extends VOD platform

Argentina's pay-TV operator Cablevisión has extended its video-on-demand (VOD) platform to the Córdoba district.
Over 5,000 titles are HD available in the service, which currently covers Buenos Aires, La Plata, Rosario and Funes, in addition to Córdoba's cities of Villa Carlos Paz and Córdoba.
The VOD platform is available to those with an HD or Max HD content package. All the scheduled content will be available on-demand, and subscribers to Moviecity HD and HBO HD can also add the channels' movies.
The catalogue will be offered under five different subscriptions: an unlimited package, pay-per-view modality, pack 1000 (with 1,000 hours of selected content), premium channels and adult content.
"Viewers look for relaxation and entertainment when turning on the TV and now want to have their favourite programme at the precise moment they feel like," explains Pablo Magnin, regional manager at Cablevisión.
"This is why we are trying to improve the customers' experience and adapt our product to their demands."
Cablevisión also predicts an increase in the demand for HD set-top-boxes in the Córdoba region, due both to the VOD platform and the World Cup next summer, for which Cablevisión will add a variety of related programming to the VOD platform from February.
