The broadcaster sold Kiss TV as well as the radio stations Kiss FM, Magic FM, One FM and Rock FM to the Greek Antenna Group, while its TV channel Prima TV was sold to the Romanian media businessman Cristian Burci.

The Romanian acquisition by Antena is the latest stage of the Greek broadcaster’s plan to enter new markets in South East Europe. Theo Kyriakou, CEO, Antena Group, said in a statement: “I’m delighted that we’ve been able to acquire these market leading assets in a country as significant as Romania. These represent Antenna’s first presence in Romania and we look forward to working closely with management to help them grow even further. Antenna Group is committed to expanding its presence in South East Europe. This is the latest stage in our growth strategy.”

In Hungary, the TV channels TV2, FEM 3, PRO4 and Super TV2 were acquired by the current management team.

The deals were signed late last week, on December 20 and December 21 respectively. All deals will be closed in the first quarter of 2014.

The German private broadcaster is now focusing on its German language activities. In December 2012 ProSiebenSat.1 sold its Nordic channels to Discovery, while it shed its Belgian and Dutch assets in April 2011.
