Visual radio to launch via DTT in Berlin

German transmitter network operator Media Broadcast wants to launch a visual radio trial via DTT in the Berlin-Brandenburg region in early 2014. The multimedia offering will supplement radio by texts, images, videos and interactive elements.
Conventional radio stations are, however, no longer available on Berlin's DTT frequencies. The distribution of the last remaining radio channels was closed down at the beginning of 2014. The affected stations are 104.6 RTL, Spreeradio and The Wave – all operated by RTL – as well as Sunshine live and Radio Horeb.
Subsequently, only TV channels will be available via DTT in Berlin-Brandenburg for the time being until the launch of the visual radio project.
