Sinclair Broadcast names GM for WJAC

Sinclair Broadcast Group has named James Doty as general manager of WJAC-TV (NBC 6) in the Johnstown/Altoona market.

"We are pleased to have Jim join the team at WJAC," said Steve Pruett, co-COO of Sinclair's television group. "Jim brings a long career in sales management, leading local and national sales teams. We believe his experience will be a valuable contribution to this market."

Doty has more than 25 years of sales and management experience. Since May 2012, he has worked as general sales manager at KPTM (FOX) and KXVO (CW) in Omaha. From March 2010 to May 2012, he was director of sales at WCIA (CBS) with Nexstar Broadcasting Group. For more than eight years he was the director of sales for WPTY (ABC) and WLMT (CW) in Memphis and WJKT (FOX) in Jackson. Prior to that, he held various other positions at a range of broadcasters. Doty graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from the University of Dayton.
