Scandinavian distributor Nordic World has reached a deal to acquire Amsterdam-based formats house Absolutely Independent.
Nordic World has the option to acquire the remaining percentage of Absolutely in three years. The two parties aim to finalise the deal prior to MIPTV in April.
Absolutely Independent was founded in 1996 by Patty Geneste. The company was the first independent European company to distribute television formats.
Absolutely has now sold over 75 produced formats to clients in more than 50 countries, including the US, Scandinavia, Germany, Spain, and, of course, our home base The Netherlands.
Nordic World is a distributor owned by the Nordic broadcasters TV2 Norway and TV4 Sweden.
