¡Hola! TV increased its audience by 67% during its first two months on air in Latin America and has taken its place among DirecTV's 30 most watched signals.

The channel, produced by Spain's Atresmedia and the lifestyle magazine Hola (Hello), was launched for Latin American viewers in October last year. According to DirecTV's latest published audience figures from November 2013, the premium signal has risen from 44 in the rankings to 30 – and 11 among the lifestyle channels – from the over 125 channels broadcast by the pay-TV platform.

The company has achieved rapid success among Latin audiences, which has driven the channel to be distributed throughout most of the region, namely Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Venezuela. "Being among the most watched channels after only nine weeks on-air means we are on the right track and more doors will be open for us in LATAM and the US Hispanic market," said Ignacio Sanz, ¡Hola! TV's CEO.

The celebrity channel, which is based in Miami, is currently distributed only through DirecTV, one of the largest direct-to-home (DTH) operators in Latin America.

Javier Nuche, strategies director at Atresmedia, also commented on the show's success: "The figures confirm the project's potential and reinforce our bet on international expansion."
