Banijay Group's Spanish company, Cuarzo-DLO Producciones, has created a new development area for large format productions which will be led by Amparo Castellano.

Cuarzo aims to strengthen the design and creation of entertainment formats as well as their international distribution. In Spain, Cuarzo also aims to increase its production, although it's already created shows for the country's main channels, such as Antena 3's ¿Donde Estás Corazón?, TVE's Herederos and Telecinco's Rojo y Negro.

According to the company, Castellano brings experience of the entertainment sector having previously been programming director at Gestmusic Endemol, being responsible for large formats such as Telecinco's Tú Sí que Vales and Cuatro's Money, Money among many, both for regional and national channels.

The French group intends to reinforce its position in Spain and the Latin American market. Banijay has been working with Cuarzo over recent years and in September announced the acquisition of the independent producer Day Light On (DLO), which had experienced great growth since its creation over two years ago.
