Canal+ has launched Canal OTT, a new division that oversees all the group's web, mobile and individual content offerings in France and worldwide, including VOD service CanalPlay and connected TV offer myCanal.
The division is run by Manuel Alduy, the former head of the group's cinema activity, whose new mission will be to develop pay offers on the web and extend the Canal+ multichannel online network.
The opening of such a division shows Canal+'s ambition to strengthen its online and OTT services ahead of the expected arrival of net content giants Netflix or Amazon in France.
Manuel Alduy is replaced at the cinema division by Nathalie Coste-Cerdan.
