TBS Veryfunny, Turner Broadcasting's comedy channel, has closed a deal with Movistar and Claro to increase its Latin American distribution. By adding 1.8 million new subscribers in Chile, the channel is now available for 37.5 million people in the region.
Chile's Movistar has started broadcasting TBS Veryfunny this week through its Plan Preferido package, which currently has nearly 500,000 subscribers. Telefónica's pay-TV was the only big platform through which Veryfunny was not being broadcast, as it was added to Claro's DTH (direct-to-home) in December and was already operating through VRT, DirecTV and GTD Manquehue.
“It's great news for TBS Veryfunny, which now can offer its humour-based programming to more Chileans,” explained Felipe De Stefani, senior VP at Turner. “We are committed to keep the signal's quality, which has driven the channel to report great publicity and distribution results.”
