Media Networks to equip Frecuencia Latina

Peru's network Frecuencia Latina has signed a contract with Telefónica's unit Media Networks in order to renew its technical infrastructure and broadcasting systems.
The Peruvian signal, one of the country's leading channels which has been on air for 30 years, will rely on Media Networks for consultancy tasks related to audiovisual solutions.
"Frecuencia Latina is one of the first networks in the region to carry out such an ambitious updating plan; and we are very pleased to count on Media Networks' experience for this project," stated Juan Pablo Ortiz, planning and development manager at Frecuencia Latina. "This update will make a positive impact on the audience and the advertisers," added Juan Carlos González, commercial manager at Media Networks South America.
Telefónica's B2B unit will work during the first half of the year with the channel's own staff to work out a proposal, which will include the studios' digitisation and system and equipment upgrading. Media Networks has carried out similar projects for Spain's TVE and Real Madrid's stadium, in which it implemented all the audiovisual systems, among other things.
Media Networks is focusing on strengthening its wholesaler position in the region, especially for pay-TV and satellite Internet operators. With a solid position within Peru, Telefónica's unit is also working in Spain, the US, Brazil, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Paraguay, Ecuador, Bolivia and Venezuela.
