French cable operator Numericable has added new services to its Box Fibre, including VideoShotTV, which allows users to share up to 15-second extracts of programmes on a Facebook wall.
This is a world premiere, says the group, and a European patent has been filed.
Looking to add new fibre customers to its current 210,000 subs, Numericable is continuing to launch innovative and exclusive services mainly in the connected and social TV fields.
Before introducing VideoShotTV, Numericable launched the ScreenshotTV function, enabling users to share TV screenshots to any Facebook account.
Another new function, to be introduced on 5 February, is the Restart service, which is presented as a French first. It allows viewers to return to the beginning of a live show even when it hasn't been recorded.
Restart will initially be available with 11 TV channels including the OCS and beIN Sports offers.
Numericable, which has signed a MVNO contract with SFR, also says that its 4G offer will be launched in February. The operator has currently attracted 150,000 mobile clients.
