Spain's Grupo Secuoya has reinforced its position in the international distribution market through a deal with US company Universal Views targeting the US' Hispanic market and Latin American pay-TV networks, and worth $1 million.
Through the international division, Secuoya Content Distribution, the Spanish group has sold several documentaries to New York-based Universal Views, which is established in the US, Canada and Latin America. The deal, announced at NAPTE, has been celebrated by Secuoya as a good start for 2014, which is slated as the year for the company's international expansion.
In addition to Universal Views, Secuoya International Distribution is said to be negotiating with networks in Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Portugal, countries in which it expects to be operating during 2014.
Sucuoya's catalogue has over 400 documentaries and 3,000 hours of footage. In addition to its portfolio, the Spanish group is presenting a new tool for online distribution at NAPTE, which allows customers to access the content and services online, even enabling viewers to watch some episodes and content included in the catalogue.
