Net Insight shakes up management to focus on the longer term

Swedish media, IP and broadcast networks scalable transport solutions provider Net Insight has undertaken a sweeping change of its executive leadership team.
Effective immediately, the changes made by CEO Fredrik Tumegård are designed to focus on growth and ensure that the business becomes more sales- and market-oriented. The Net Insight management team — which will see both changes to existing roles as well as a number of new positions — will now comprise Tumegård as well as CFO Thomas Bergström; CTO, SVP business development and founder Per Lindgren; SVP global sales Stig Stålnacke; VP new segment sales Peter Sergel; VP marketing Anna Karin Verneholt; VP portfolio management Martin Karlsson; VP research and development Ulrik Rohne; VP service acting Ulrik Rohne; and VP HR Marina Hedman.
The move comes just as Russian telco customer Rostelecom has selected Net Insight’s Nimbra platform for live video transport feeds during the Winter Olympics in Sochi. Rostelecom will transport live video feeds from Sochi to Moscow for a major national broadcaster during and says that it selected Net Insight for its compact and highly versatile platform that is especially suited for occasional use services and meeting demands for fast time to market.
"[We] will deploy Net Insight’s Nimbra platform in order to serve our customers’ contribution needs during the upcoming sporting event,” siad Igor Kachalov, senior specialist, service TV and radio company department at Rostelecom. "The Nimbra platform not only provides a highly stable JPEG2000 compression solution but also ensures advanced protection mechanisms. These benefits in combination with Net Insight’s and Kontur-M’s professional services were imperative in selecting the Nimbra platform."
