The local TV portal which Bavarian media authority BLM launched a year ago for DTH satellite homes is now also available to DTT households.
The service enables viewers to take a local TV channel of their choice to their TV screen even if the channel is not available via satellite or DTT. The signals are sent to the TV sets as live streams through the Internet.
The local TV portal is available via DTT in Munich, Nuremberg, Stuttgart, Saarbrücken, the Rhine-Main region, North-Rhine Westphalia, Hannover, Bremen, Hamburg, Kiel, Lübeck and Berlin.
Through the free-of-charge service, users can watch nearly all local TV channels from Germany. In addition to the live streams, the channels' catch-up services are also offered. The precondition is a set-top box or TV set with an integrated tuner for DVB-S or DVB-T capable of interactive multimedia standard HbbTV and connected to the Internet.
