The customers of German cable operator Kabel BW can now access TV channels and on-demand content on their PC, iPad and iPhone following the company's deployment of the Horizon TV feature.
All customers who have signed up for cable TV and Internet access from Kabel BW can use Horizon TV at no additional charge.
Access to services such as live TV, TV archive, video-on-demand (VOD) and EPG with the PC or notebook is through the Horizon TV website. For the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, a free-of-charge Horizon TV app is offered. An app for Android is in preparation.
Horizon TV is part of Horizon's multimedia world. The Horizon set-top box, which acts as a central entertainment hub in the customer's home, will be provided by Kabel BW in the second half of 2014. Sister company Unitymedia has been offering the device since September 2013. Unitymedia and Kabel BW are both owned by Liberty Global.
